You are being invited to participate in a research study. Thank you for taking the time to consider this information prior to taking part.
This study is being undertaken by Dr. Jonathan Drennan and a research team from the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems at University College Dublin and is funded by the Irish Cancer Society.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the Irish Cancer Society’s cancer information services, including the information and support you received either on the Irish Cancer Society's Website or Facebook page. We want to survey people who have used the Irish Cancer Society's online services to find out the extent to which the information they received helped with their concerns and queries. This research will help us understand whether the Irish Cancer Society’s cancer information services are meeting the needs of people who contact the Society and will help us improve services in the future.
If you decide to take part in the study you will be asked to complete this survey online. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. If you initially decide to take part and change your mind, you can leave the survey without difficulty.
As the survey is anonymous we will not know your identity. The survey does not collect any identifying information such as your name or address. Your answers are completely confidential and will be reported as statistical summaries in which no individual’s answers can be identified. The results of the study may be published or presented at research conferences, however, no individual responses will be identifiable.
On completion, of this study, the results will be presented to the Irish Cancer Society. They will use them to improve the information services that they provide to patients, friends and relatives of people with cancer.
