We want to hear from you

The Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) is seeking your feedback on whether you think there should be an extension to transitional period 4 (for privately owned vehicles) in the Freedom Camping Act. You are welcome to make a submission on some or all of the questions in this survey and/or raise any other relevant points. A discussion document covering the proposals is available on the MBIE website. Please refer to this document for more information.

Completing this online survey should take you approximately 10 minutes. We appreciate your time and your insights. Feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you would like.

What will we do with your information?

Submissions may be subject to the release under the New Zealand Official Information Act 1982 and requests under the Privacy Act 2020.

If you have any objection to release of any information in your submission, please clearly state this at the end of this survey or email us directly at responsiblecamping@mbie.govt.nz.

In your statement, please clearly indicate which parts you consider should be withheld together with the reasons for withholding the information. We will take such comments into account when we do our own review and will endeavour to consult with submitters when responding to requests under the Official Information Act 1982 and Privacy Act 2020.

Your participation is voluntary. When providing a survey response, you can choose not to provide contact details or personal information in your responses. Any personal information collected will be managed as explained in the discussion document and by Survey Monkey policies at (https://www.surveymonkey.com/mp/legal/privacy/). The submissions received will be used as explained in the discussion document.

MBIE will proactively publish submissions, and a summary of survey results, which we may edit to protect privacy.
