Thank you for participating in our study and helping us improve science tests for all students. You will be taking a science test that may or may not be related to topics you have learned this year. You will also be prompted to answer a few questions related to your experience with some of the questions on the test. Your answers will be anonymous and are not being used to grade you on your knowledge or abilities, and we will not share the results with your teacher. Your responses to the test questions will help us find out how good or not good the test questions are, and your responses to the experience-related questions will help us improve the tests so that more students can feel as though they are able to show what they know and can do.
The test may cover ideas you haven’t studied, and you may not know all the answers, but that is ok. It is important that you answer the questions to the best of your ability and be honest about your experience taking the tests. By doing your best on this test, you will help the researchers make science tests more fair, more accurate, and more accessible.
During the test, click the "Save your progress" button to save your responses and remain on the current page. When you are finished with all the questions on one page, click, "next question." This will take you to the next page of questions.
Work slowly and carefully. Please answer as many questions as you can during today’s class. It's ok if you do not have time to answer all of the questions.
Thank you for participating!
