Thank you for participating in the Alachua County 2025 Strategic Planning community survey. The County’s staff and Commissioners are developing their long-term goals and want to hear your ideas.

  • Q: What is a strategic plan?
    • A strategic plan is a guide that shows where we want to go in the future and how we’ll get there. It contains long-term goals that helps the Commission and County staff make decisions, prioritize resources, and create policies to get there. It differs from the day-to-day operations that keep things running smoothly.
    • For example, fixing potholes or maintaining traffic signals are the day-to-day tasks, and so would not be included in the Strategic Guide. But a ten-year transportation plan to improve traffic flow would fit into a strategic plan.
