Across Brisbane and online, Wesley Arts provides high-quality workshops, career pathway support and exhibition and performance opportunities in visual, performing, and digital arts for people of all abilities.

We connect with working artists and talented individuals so participants can effectively learn skills from their chosen art form, equipped with the tools to use the arts to enrich their whole life – whether that's increasing their capacity, managing their wellbeing, or building their career in the creative industries.

Our volunteers assist in various sessions, including:
  • Visual Arts: painting, drawing, printmaking and other visual arts techniques.
  • Performing and Literary Arts: drama, music, singing, drumming, poetry, and more. Workshops and tuition across Brisbane and online.
  • Digital Arts: Animation and digital drawing skills, photography, film and TV production workshops and tuition in various digital mediums for producing art.
In the sessions, volunteers:
  • Arrange, set up, and pack down workshops.
  • Facilitate special approved projects.
  • Assist participants to be involved and follow instructions given by the workshop facilitator.
  • Help generate a fun, creative, calm, supportive and nurturing environment for our participants.
  • Build rapport and good relationships with individuals supported by the program, the team, and other stakeholders.
  • And if you would like to, you can share your special talent or interest!

The role of Wesley Arts volunteer is suitable for people who are keen on or have an interest in arts, crafts, and music, have well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and display a calm, caring, and empathetic manner. It’s a great way to make a difference in the lives of people with a disability while making friends, having fun, and learning new skills.
