Yes No Question Title * 3. Our client is conducting research to examine changes in electrical brain activity in response to TV and advertisement content. A cap containing many electrodes will be placed on your head. The electrodes contained in the cap are designed to sit gently on the scalp and record the electrical activity naturally emitted by the brain. In this way we can measure the activity occurring in different regions of the brain at different times during the study. The electrodes will feel slightly cool, at first, as they have been pre-soaked in water. This is important as it helps to maintain good contact between the electrode and the scalp. The electrodes are used for recording the natural activity of the brain and cannot give you a shock. In addition, you will wear a set of half-mirrored glasses. You will be able to see through these glasses allowing you to view the material, and at the same time you will see a flickering white light that is being generated by the glasses. The only known risks associated with the study are to persons who have or may have epilepsy as flickering lights associated with the study process may induce fits or seizures. Also, there is a possibility that such lights will induce a severe headache or migraine in people with a tendency towards this. You should not participate in this study if you have or have reason to believe you may have epilepsy or may suffer a migraine or severe headache. If you suffer from migraines, epilepsy or other neurological disorders, it is not recommended that you participate in this study.
