The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), the trucking industry’s not-for-profit research organization, is working with the 50 state Departments of Transportation to identify best practices for expanding truck parking at public rest areas and other state-owned locations. There are three specific approaches on which ATRI would like truck driver input:

  • Trucking Parking Information Systems (TPIMS)
  • Repurposing State-Owned Facilities for Truck Parking
  • Parking for Adverse Weather Conditions
