Thank you for participating in our short survey. Your feedback is important.

Welcome! Before you begin, please read the following information about the purpose of the survey and its importance for you and the Navy.

Introduction:
  • Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is committed to ensuring that the housing requirements of all military personnel are met with high-quality housing. CNIC has retained the independent research firm Robert D. Niehaus, Inc. (RDN) to assist with this important task.
  • The survey will help CNIC determine the current and projected housing needs of our military members.
  • The survey asks you about the kind of housing you live in, what you look for in military and civilian housing, what influences your housing decision, your housing-related costs if you live off-base, and your family circumstances as they relate to your housing needs.
Purpose:
  • Results will inform CNIC and installation command on other housing analyses, policies, and projects, such as Housing Requirements Market Analyses (HRMA).
Why You Should Participate:
  • You represent a larger group of service members. We can draw conclusions about Navy members' and their families' housing needs and preferences from your response. If you don't respond, your views may not be considered in the review of housing related policies.
  • This confidential survey is a way for leadership to learn about the housing circumstances of all personnel under their care and put their needs into context.
  • A high response rate from on- and off-base residents is vital to the credibility and success of this survey.
Survey Length:
  • The typical time to take the survey is 5-10 minutes.
Voluntary Participation:
  • Your participation is completely voluntary. You can stop at any time and there is no penalty for not responding to the survey or specific questions. If you cannot complete the survey in one go, you may log on again later to complete it.
  • As you decide whether to take part, consider this an opportunity to contribute to the Navy and encourage your peers to participate as well so that all voices are equally heard.
Privacy Protection:
  • RDN will treat your answers as strictly confidential. RDN will not share who has participated in the study, nor link your individual response to your identity. Only RDN staff on this project will have access to your individual responses, and we will take great care to protect your privacy and data.
  • No superior or other officials will see your responses, nor will RDN release any data that could identify you to anyone in your service, CNIC, or anyone else, except as required by law.
  • RDN will only report group statistics and will collapse categories to protect privacy as necessary.
  • RDN staff are trained in physical, procedural, and electronic safeguarding techniques to deidentify and protect data. RDN staff may be subject to civil penalties for violating your confidentiality.
  • CNIC has agreed to these conditions to protect your privacy.
