Identifying Key Research Underway in Professional Counseling

ACES & NBCC recognize that federally-funded research helps to ensure clear linkages between best practices and policy and helps to advance research in ways that serve the good of society. In instances where federal funding may be paused or discontinued, essential research projects may be interrupted. NBCC and ACES are committed to investing in efforts to sustain transformative research that is shaping the profession, the practice of counseling, and the lives of professional counselors and their clients. Counselors, Counseling Researchers, and Counselor Educators are vital members of the research community who are well-positioned to identify such transformative research projects. Sharing responses to these questions will allow counselors, researchers, educators, and others to submit initial information about counseling research projects that need to be considered for financial or structural support due to federal funding disruptions. Representatives from ACES and NBCC will consider all submitted responses and where possible, explore opportunities for support and/or share this information with other organizations that may be interested in providing some support for the project. Please submit the application below and reach out if you have questions about the application or process to: parc@nbcc.org
