The Albanese Labor Government has rejected a grant application made by the District Council of Grant for $7 million to fund upgrades at the Mount Gambier and Districts saleyards.
This is despite Round 1 of the Growing Regions funding program being underspent by $93.4 million.
The rejection of funding for this project is a huge economic opportunity lost to the Limestone Coast.
With drought gripping and interest rates hurting, now more than ever our farmers and our regions need support.
As a community, we need to stand with our farmers and show support for the Mount Gambier and Districts Saleyards transformation project.
