This is an experiment that tests for ESP (Extrasensory Perception). The experiment is run entirely by computer and takes about 20 minutes. First you will be asked to answer a few questions about yourself, and run a word categorization task. Then, on each trial of the experiment you will be shown a picture on the screen and asked to indicate as quickly as you can whether it is pleasant or unpleasant. The computer will be measuring your reaction times. Some of the images shown may be upsetting in the second part of the experiment, such as accident, or people being upset. The way in which this procedure tests for ESP is implicit in the task. You will not obtain individual results on your performance as the data will be analyzed for each person that ask you to do the experiment.
Your data will be kept confidential. Only group results will be reported. Your name will never appear anywhere.
