The purpose of this Space Grant Evaluation is to assess the impact of Space Grant experiences on the STEM identity of community college, undergraduate, and graduate students and to identify effective, repeatable practices that meet NASA’s goals and encourage STEM-career interest. 

In carrying out the evaluation, Space Grant consortia will: 

1.    Participate in an interview with the Goldstream, Group about their consortium. 
2.    Provide student names, email addresses, educational level, school name, award type, and award amount if applicable to the Goldstream Group using a secure sharelink.
3.    Remind students to complete their surveys as needed.
4.    Notify students about the evaluation in their acceptance letter.
5.    Notify mentors about the evaluation when possible.
6.    Distribute flyers and other advertising to affiliates and STEM departments to help recruit comparison students.

Goldstream Group will:

1.    Obtain IRB approval through the University of Alaska Fairbanks IRB and provide each consortium with a copy of the letter of exemption and/or approval.
2.    Survey Space Grant students four times during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years.
3.    Survey comparison students four times during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years.
4.    Interview a random sample of Space Grant students.
5.    Interview a random sample of comparison students.
6.    Interview program directors and/or coordinators.
7.    Analyze all data.
8.    Report aggregate finding and recommendations to NASA.
9.    Provide each consortium with their raw data in excel.
10.    Provide a summary report to each state at the end of the project.
