Thank you for your interest in registering as an Aged Care Volunteer Visitor with Wesley Mission Queensland.

Our In-Home Aged Care Volunteer Visitor program aims to enrich the quality of life of isolated older people living in their own homes who may be socially isolated or lonely - whether for social or cultural reasons or due to disability.

As part of our Aged Care Volunteer Visitor program, we are looking for friendly people who want to make a difference in the lives of our community’s seniors just by spending an hour per week or fortnight visiting and being a social friend to individuals living in their own homes. Due to the nature of the role, we ask for a commitment of six months.

In the role of Aged Care Volunteer Visitor, you will assist in ensuring older people in their homes remain actively engaged and inspired every day. Quality time shared can include chatting, playing cards or board games, working on a hobby together, or discussing the local news. You might take a walk, grab a coffee, or do some gardening together.

Aged Care Volunteer Visitors are not involved in providing clinical or personal care to the people they visit.

Wesley Mission Queensland is a welcoming and rewarding place to volunteer where you will meet many wonderful people and learn great new skills that may assist you both personally and professionally. There are lots of other benefits to volunteering with us as well, such as:

  • Supply and pay for any security checks required for the position
  • Access to online and face-to-face wellness advisors
  • Great education opportunities
  • Free Flu Vaccinations
  • Exclusive shopping discounts
  • Invitations to social events
  • Being part of a team that really is making a difference in the lives of lonely and isolated seniors living in your local community.
All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received their COVID-19 vaccinations before they are registered in their role.

Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance check prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
