Wesley Mission Queensland’s Home Assist Secure program is currently looking for individuals interested in volunteering their time to help us with completing small maintenance tasks for our clients to help them remain safe and independent in their own homes!.

With support from paid staff, the Volunteer will assist with tasks such as:

  • Assisting with general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, repairing and installing locks, installing and changing batteries in smoke alarms
  • Assembling ramps, fitting grab rails and handrails
  • Painting small areas and arranging gutter cleans
  • Using tools such as drills and ladders, as required
  • Travelling to and from jobs in fleet vehicles as required
  • Other tasks as required.

The Home Assist Secure program assists Brisbane seniors and people living with a disability to remain at home and enjoy independent living. Home Assist Secure supports clients with that little extra bit of help around the house to make remaining at home easier.

  • Volunteers will be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance check prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
