ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Jasmine Bridges is a mechanical engineer and advanced manufacturing strategy consultant with extensive experience leading domestic and international teams to implement complex technical programs in the energy and aerospace sectors. Her expertise is in technology development technology transition, production engineering, producibility and manufacturability.
Most recently Jasmine led an optimization effort to optimize the US Department of Energy’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program including analyzed award data, initiated and led an on-going cross-functional meeting to enhance SBIR Program operations and interfaced with a diverse cross-section of stakeholders.
Jasmine began her professional career in the energy sector where she researched renewable energy technology. She then entered the aerospace sector as a mechanical and manufacturing engineer for the Boeing Company for nearly a decade. At Boeing she led design and manufacturing teams for the 737, 787 and P-8 airplane programs. Jasmine also served at the first Industry Fellow to the U.S. Department of Energy in the Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO) where she helped design a national manufacturing infrastructure to spur U.S. advanced manufacturing.
Jasmine earned her B.S. and M.S in Mechanical Engineering and earned her MBA. Awards and honors include SME Outstanding Young Engineer of the Year (OYME), Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA), invited speaker (by NASA) to the Trilateral Safety and Mission Assurance Conference (TRISMAC) in Grottalgie, Italy to share technology transition to space agencies (NASA, ESA, JAXA) and invited attendee to National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering Symposium.
Passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers, Jasmine has sat on non-profit boards and continues to mentor students. She consults in the areas of energy, aerospace manufacturing and safety, product development and technology transition. Jasmine also enjoys learning languages, salsa dancing and teaching within her church.
