Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. Goombi Energy Holdings (GEH) is committed to developing the proposed Goombi Renewable Energy Hub (the Project) in a way that is inclusive, open and beneficial to the local and broader community. For more information on the Project visit the website: goombirenewablenergyhub.com

The Goombi Renewable Energy Hub (GREH) is a wind farm and battery energy storage system (BESS) project proposed for Goombi, in the Western Downs region of Queensland. The Project is located approximately 20 km to the east of Miles and 16 km to the west of Chinchilla.

Key Project Details
  • Up to 106 wind turbines with a maximum blade tip height of 270m
  • A battery energy storage system (BESS)
  • Wind monitoring masts
  • Ancillary infrastructure e.g. internal access tracks, hardstand and laydown areas, electrical substation and electrical reticulation
  • Grazing and cropping will continue at the base of the turbines, with only 1-2% of the proposed development (10,500 hectares) hosting turbines
  • Operational life of at least 30 years
  • Generate renewable energy to power up to 380,000 homes
  • Promote employment, with up to 300 jobs during construction, and up to 12 during operation
  • 1.8 million tonnes of carbon emissions saved per year
As part of the development process for the Project we are looking to collect feedback from residents and local community members about the Project and your experiences of living in your community and the broader region.

Umwelt (Australia) Pty Ltd (Umwelt), on behalf of GEH, is undertaking this survey to inform the development application for the Project, with questions relating to:
  • Community needs and values;
  • Awareness and interest of the Project;
  • Perceived impacts and opportunities of the Project; and
  • Your preferences for engagement and information needs moving forward.
The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
