The Employer Insights Survey, previously known as the EmployerOne Survey provides employers across the District of Algoma the opportunity to discuss their skills needs, and practices around recruitment and retention activity for the past year. This survey serves as a platform to collect local employer input on workforce challenges and accomplishments in the current labour market. The survey also allows employers to outline potential challenges affecting their workforce in the upcoming year and beyond.
  • Employer Profiles

  • Hiring and demand insights
  • Retention strategies and challenges
  • Perspectives on skills, education and training
  • Future workforce outlook
Importance of Employer Input
Your input is essential to help:
  • Inform employment and training programs and services;
  • Ensure that local employment and training programs better align with the local labour market requirements; and
  • Contribute to efforts to ensure the availability of a highly skilled and trained workforce in our Northern communities.
The end result will be a labour market snapshot of what issues and challenges are affecting your business and industry. This information is vital to implementing local strategies that can support local businesses and help them thrive and succeed locally.

Completing the Survey:
  • The survey should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
  • Please answer all questions as accurately and completely as possible.
  • Please have a person who is familiar with issues associated with hiring and your workforce issues complete the survey.
  • Although you might receive a request to complete the Employer Pulse survey from multiple sources, we ask that you complete the survey only once.
The Employer Insights survey is an initiative carried out by the Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) with the support of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
