Fighting for a Koala Kindy at Queensland Koala Society |
Authorised by Ross Vasta, LNP, Wynnum QLD.
The Queensland Koala Society in Chandler is a volunteer run, non-for-profit organisation that does vital work rescuing and protecting injured koalas.
As an election commitment under the former Coalition Government, I was able to secure federal funding to build a ‘Koala Kindy’ at the Queensland Koala Society to help rehabilitate rescued koalas.
A ‘Koala Kindy’ in Bonner would not only prove vital in the fight to save our koalas but would also be an incredible educational tool for local schools and universities.
Last year on the 27th of September, I gave a speech in parliament calling on the Federal Labor Government to honour this commitment. You can view my speech here. I have also written to the Federal Labor Government to honour this commitment. As of 03/03/2023, the Federal Labor Government has not responded.
I am fighting for a ‘Koala Kindy’ at the Queensland Koala Society, but I need your help to secure a better future for our koalas.
Please sign the petition below, and together we can take a practical step in helping protect and rehabilitate our local koalas.
