Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Wesley Mission Queensland.

At Wesley Mission Queensland, you will find a new way of thinking about volunteering in Residential Aged Care. With the support of our volunteers, we encourage our residents to build connections, have fun and celebrate life - all while receiving the care they need.

Our Residential Aged Care Communities are the only ones in Queensland registered with the Eden Alternative™ philosophy of care, which focuses on eliminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom and promoting meaningful relationships and companionship.

The Sinnamon Village Aged Care Precinct brings together retirement living, residential aged care, respite care, specialist disability accommodation, an allied health and wellbeing centre, a hydrotherapy pool, and an onsite café. All at one convenient location in the heart of Sinnamon Park.

Dovetree Aged Care Community is our newest state-of-the-art aged care facility. The positivity of the staff and volunteers at Dovetree is infectious. Whether it’s a special concert or creative activity, they all join in (often with a crazy costume!), bringing laughter and smiles. Our beloved cats, Smudge, Luna, Aurora, Smokey and Saber, provide comfort and companionship to our residents.

Kentish Court Aged Care Community is a vibrant and inclusive community offering spontaneous, meaningful, and exciting social and recreational events for all residents to enjoy. These include movie nights, coach tours, scrabble games, sing-alongs, BBQs, and exercise classes.

Knowles Court Aged Care Community features a range of pets and Eden Companions, offering comfort and companionship to our residents. Our adorable Bantam chickens, colourful bird aviary with budgies, and visiting pets contribute to a homely atmosphere that enhances the well-being of our community.

Reid Court Aged Care Community offers a community room complete with a kitchenette, as well as a spacious outdoor gazebo featuring a BBQ area. These amenities provide the perfect spaces for residents to relax, connect, and enjoy socialising with family and friends.

Nash Court Aged Care Community is a warm and welcoming aged care home with two large comfortable lounge rooms, equipped with a piano and entertainment system, where residents can enjoy social and recreational events.

Jacobs Court Aged Care Community includes an expansive garden, where residents can delight in tending to their herbs and plants. Additionally, a large covered entertainment area offers the ideal space for residents to gather for social events and participate in outdoor activities, providing a perfect blend of relaxation and social engagement.

Our five aged care community courts - Kentish, Knowles, Jacobs, Reid, and Nash - are all connected with landscaped gardens, flowering trees and shrubs. Residents from all five courts gather at our on-site Sinnamon Village Leisure Centre for a friendly game of cards, indoor bowls or delight in a performance by one of our visiting entertainers. Residents also have access to a range of amenities, including a hair salon, day therapy center, hydrotherapy pool, café, club lounge, chapel, cinema, and library.
