The following is a short survey from UTFA’s leadership on our members’ experiences with and observations of ableism and/or disability discrimination in their workplaces.

We developed the survey in consultation with librarians and faculty members who experience disability. We ask that you be inclusive of visible and invisible (e.g., ADHD), permanent, and shorter-term (e.g. episodic health conditions such as Long COVID) disabilities and also any aspects of the university environment that create barriers to fulfilling your roles in a safe, dignified, and respectful manner. Unless you indicate otherwise in your qualitative responses, your answers will remain anonymous and will only be used in the aggregate to inform our work. What we learn about disability at U of T will inform UTFA’s approach to equity policy, practice, and advocacy.

Note: Neither our e-blast software nor our survey software program will be used by UTFA to track your identity (e.g., your email address). Further, only the UTFA Executive and Bargaining Team will have access to any disaggregated data or any personal data you may choose to share.
