About the SUNY Suffolk County Community College DEI Campus Climate Survey for Employees

ABOUT THE SURVEY

You are invited to participate in the SUNY Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Campus Climate Survey.

Purpose of Survey: SUNY System is inviting all campuses to participate in a system-wide climate survey for students, faculty, and staff. This survey is designed to measure the extent to which diversity, equity and inclusion play an integral role on our campus and how it impacts our students and employees’ experience. Your participation will help us continue to build an inclusive learning and working environment on campus, in which everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected. The results from the survey will allow each SUNY campus to benchmark their responses with other SUNY campuses, as well as dozens of other institutions of higher education from across the country.

CONSENT FORM

Your participation in this survey is voluntary. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. If you decide to take part in this survey, you will be asked a series of questions about your experience on campus to help us assess the current climate and DEI practices at your institution. We will also ask for demographic information (e.g. race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political ideology). Your responses are completely confidential, you may choose not to answer any question by leaving it blank and selecting the "Next” button at the bottom of each survey page. You can also stop completely at any time. The SUNY DEI Campus Climate Survey is being administered by Viewfinder® Campus Climate Surveys, an external organization that will collect and analyze the data received in the survey. No identifiers are attached to individual survey responses. The survey will not ask for any personal identifiable information including name, email, address and student or employee ID. The risk of participating in this survey is minimal, participants may experience slight discomfort in answering sensitive questions regarding your experience at the institution. N/A responses in this survey include Not Applicable or I Don't Know. The de-identified information will not be used in any research study. Many of the questions and responses to this survey use language that is consistent with surveys used by higher education institutions from across the country, which will allow SUNY to compare our campus climate against nationwide benchmarks.
