About the Project

The City of Alexandria is developing a concept plan to provide wider sidewalks and protected bicycle lanes around the King Street Metro Station, making it more accessible for individuals of all ages and abilities. Additional width for new pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure on King Street and Commonwealth Avenue will be available after the existing rail freight bridges are replaced and widened by the Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA). As the City finalizes the concept plan, your feedback on streetscape elements will guide our design team.

Before completing the brief survey, visit the project website to learn more and watch a recorded presentation explaining the proposed concept: alexandriava.gov/go/4899

Copies of the concept plan and the presentation are available for download on the project website.

Please provide feedback by Friday, March 7, 2025.
